May is not just about flowers blooming and warmer weather; it’s also Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to shine a light on an issue that affects millions worldwide, including young people. In a world where stress and worries can pile up, it’s so important to think about our well-being, and one way to do that is by talking.
For young people aged 11 to 25, finding a safe space to open up can be daunting. That’s where the Info Shop comes in. Every Monday to Friday, youth workers are available to lend an ear and offer advice and guidance. Whether it’s school pressures, family challenges, or personal struggles, you don’t have to face it alone.
Thursdays are dedicated to “Time to Talk” drop-ins from 3-5pm. This structured time provides an opportunity to speak to one of our staff about anything at all that might be worrying you.
If you aren’t sure where to find us, we are on Lambpit Street! halfway between Cafe Nero and Saith Seren.
Talking about mental health is more than just a conversation; it’s a lifeline. Research shows that talking about our feelings can alleviate stress, reduce feelings of isolation, and foster a sense of belonging. By speaking up, you take the first step toward healing and resilience.
The Info Shop isn’t just a place; it’s a haven – a judgment-free zone where all young people are welcome. Whatever you’re struggling with, there’s always a seat waiting for you here.
So this May, let’s make mental health a priority. Let’s break down the stigma and build a community of support. Remember, you’re never alone, and it’s okay to ask for help. Together, we can create a world where mental health matters every month, not just in May.
