The FJYPB are a group of over 50 children and young people aged between 7 and 25 years old who live across England and Wales.Their aim is to support the work of the Family Justice Board to deliver improvements to the family justice system so that it provides the best result for children who come into contact with the family justice system.
The FJYPB work hard to help ensure that the work is child centered and child-inclusive by enabling young people to have a direct say, participating in all meetings, working closely with other young people’s groups and stakeholders within family justice.
In collaboration with Cafcass (MoJ) and Cafcass Cymru (WG) the FJYPB have agreed to recruit an unprecedented number of Welsh members to the FJYPB, 10 board positions will be held open for Welsh young people, aged 7-25 with experience or interest in the family justice system.
If appointed the board members have the opportunity take part in a wide range of work linked to family justice across England and Wales including, but not limited to, presentations, inspections, training and workshops. Members are paid for their time as well as gaining valuable life skills and experiences. The poster attached and the FJYPB website explains the this in more detail.
Applicants should, generally speaking, not have a live family court case or a very complex case that has just finished, however, the FJYPB would be more than happy to discuss each individual based on their circumstances.
The deadline for applications is 28th Feb 2018. If your colleagues have someone in mind that would benefit from the experience of being a part of the FJYPB please encourage them to contact the FJYPB on the email below to obtain an application pack as soon as possible fjypb@cafcass.gsi.gov.uk
